Long term phacoemulsification FELLOWSHIP
Eligibility criteria: MS, MD, DNB, DO
Duration: 18 months
Fellowship program
OUT PATIENT DEPARTMENT
  • Mastering the skills of using slit lamp biomicroscopy which includes use of noncontact fundus lenses.

  • Mastering the skills of using indirect ophthalmoscopy

  • Management of various ophthalmic diseases.

  • Management of various ophthalmic diseases.

DIAGNOSTIC SKILLS
  • Refraction – including the ability to do keratometry, lensometry and biometry

  • Planing astigmatism management for cataract surgery 

SURGICAL SKILLS
  • Phacoemulsification ( also includes management of complication)

Procedure skills
  • YAG laser capsulotomy

  • YAG Peripheral Iridotomy

Teaching and education
  • Seminars and case presentations

  • Maintain logbook

ACADEMICS AND RESEARCH
  • Attending various state and national conferences

  • Presenting various research papers in conferences

  • Publishing research papers

Senior residency
  • 6 months with independent OPD posing, and cataract surgery
