Medical Retina & ROP Fellowship

Eligibility criteria: MS, MD, DNB, DO
Duration: 18 months
Fellowship program

OUT PATIENT DEPARTMENT :

  • Mastering the skills of using slit lamp biomicroscopy which includes use of contact and noncontact fundus lenses.

  • Mastering the skills of using indirect ophthalmoscopy

  • Diagnosis of various medical and surgical retina conditions under supervision of retina specialist.

  • Diagnosis of uveitis and uvea emergencies under supervision of uvea specialist.

  • Prescribing low vision aids.

DIAGNOSTIC SKILLS
  • Hands on training in fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA)
  • Indocyanine green angiography(ICG)
  • Optical coherence tomography (OCT)
  • OCTA
  • Ultrasonography(USG)
SURGICAL SKILLS:
  • Laser photocoagulation for various posterior segment diseases
  • Intravitreal injections for various posterior segment pathologies
ROP Screening and Management
  • ROP screening in OPD and NICU
  • ROP LASER
  • INJ ANTI VEGF FOR ROP
ACADEMICS AND RESEARCH
  • Attending various state and national conferences
  • Presenting various research papers in conferences
  • Publishing research papers
Senior Residency: 6 months with independent OPD posting, Uvea emergencies, laser and Ultrasound posting.
